NeoCrypt Portable DevTest 2

Name: NeoCrypt
Description:NeoCrypt is a free, open-source File Protection Utility for Windows. It helps you to protect your sensitive information easily by encrypting it with password(s). An intuitive user interface allows even novice users to use this utility to its full potential. It yields fast, reliable and unbreakable encryption and supports many popular encryption algorithms. Only the installer writes into the registry (NeoCrypt's), so it shouldn't write into the registry at all. (Considering there's no saved settings).

I just thought I would ask if anyone else is having problems downloading this application or is it just me? I have tried several different Sourceforge mirrors without success.

Download

I finally got it to download with Opera. It might be a problem with Minefield, because I have heard that it blocked some sites because of Google's phishing list. I'll go ahead and test it now.

Downloaded fine here.

Downloaded fine here.

one issue I've noticed so far, it creates a registry key at HKLM\SOFTWARE\NeoCrypt

I'll post back if i find anything else

Edit: your appinfo.ini still lists Publisher=Krzysztof Kowalczyk & PortableApps.com. Krzysztof is the Sumatra developer.

for adding your copyright to the launcher, it should read

other than that things look good

Okay,

I'll try to fix those. I hadn't much work with the registry, I've been doing standalone apps.

I'm gonna make a Wiki entry

I'm gonna make a Wiki entry on Ryan's site. I taught myself a little about icons and how to check them recently and I'll spread the word.

Normally when an icon color

Normally when an icon color depth is unavailable it falls back to another one. Normally that is. So I guess it will work anyway. (Just upscaling colors from 256 seems a bit daft)

Smile

Nowadays icons include an 256x256 XP with alpha (png compressed) do we need to use those too?)

our icons will NOT include

our icons will NOT include the 256x256, it majorly increases the file size.

Icons for the PortableApps.com launchers should include these items:

  • 48x48 True color + alpha(32bit)
  • 32x32 True color + alpha(32bit)
  • 16x16 True color + alpha(32bit)
  • 48x48 256 colors(8bit)
  • 32x32 256 colors(8bit)
  • 16x16 256 colors(8bit)
