The installer seems corrupt, 7z SFX crashes each time I double click the file. If I use 7zip and just use the extract function, it works, but the SFX itself seems broken.

Edit: The app itself works great, there is a .svn folder left behind in "Xenon\App\xenon\toolbar\MI3-Crystal"

Yes!

I was just thinking about this today and yesterday while going through and organizing some files. Sweetness.

Note: Well Xenon should be stable shouldn't it? Blum *patrick claps for his pun*

Works greatly

It works fine, tough the delete prompt isn't translated. And the already known bug of the installer. I like the copy/cut/delete images (if I had a big file to move...)

I found these strings untranslated, by the way (minor things):

ADDTEMPLATE=Adicionar Modelo
ALLFILES=Todos os Ficheiros

Blue is everything.

Some Small Suggestions

I just wanted to suggest some minor features that would be nice, the cancel one is the most important to me.

  • A 'Cancel' button on the File Copying & Cutting & Pasting image windows to stop the operation.
  • Homepage doesn't seem to work for me.
  • Maybe aliases for the bookmark paths.
  • I'm having a problem with setting a homepage not working.
  • Would it be hard to have the search results when typed in the search box directly from Xenon display inside the file manager area?
  • Resizable tree view?

    • This is, unfortunately, the least possible of all.
    • I'll look into that.
    • Not a bad idea.
    • In what way?
    • Yes, but not impossible.
    • That would be quite tricky.

    Great

It is great, and no, I don't any translation correction to say (once in a lifetime I didn't screwed up Wink ).

Seems stable working on Windows Vista HP pt-PT without SP1 yet (waiting for pt-PT release without being RFM Sad ).

Also, a feature I think it would be nice: support for opening shortcuts on Xenon instead of Windows Explorer (I though of making an association but that would open on another window).

    • Thanks
    • I put it there so the launcher would not have to extract it to a temporary directory. It also allows the user to change or disable the splash screen. Is there a problem with that.
    • That is there because the launcher extracts it on first run. It will be removed when I can use the installer.

    2. no problem

    3. Why would the launcher need to extract it to a temporary directory? Does AutoIt not allow you to compile the image into the exe? This is how it is done with NSIS. I'm not sure if it's an issue or not, I understand your point of keeping it in Data.

I've changed some things in the icon, resized it to the different sizes and optimized it.
Then I created one single .ico file containing all of them.
It can be downloaded from here.

    One Feature Request

I only have one request. I don't know how easy this would be, but what about adding a tabbed layout view. That way you could open several different folders in the same window. That is the only reason I still use ExplorerXP.

I also found a little bug. If I already have Portable Firefox open and go to the help, a dialog box pops up that says I need to close firefox before another instance of firefox can be opened. Shouldn't the help just open in another tab in firefox?

I had portable firefox open and internet explorer closed at the time. The default for HTML files is internet explorer, but it still tried to open the help with portable firefox. If I open any HTML file on my computer it defaults to IE. Maybe something else is going on.

    Cool

I'm not gonna request anymore features, only point out some bugs now as I really want this one to go public here. These might have been mentioned before, I didn't read the whole thread.

    Here's the bugs I'm noticing.

    1. Cannot add bookmarks that to not reside on the drive Xenon is running from. I know people will rarely do this, but I'm just pointing it out. I don't expect a fix.
    2. When closing the bookmarks window, that ListView array 1d and 2d Display window appears, which doesn't seem like it needs to be shown, perhaps try to hide this.
    3. As for the Xenon search, how about having it a different default size, so you can still see the Xenon window behind it, or maybe have a 'Go Back to Xenon' button on the search window or something.
    4. Homepage doesn't work setting it for different drives, but again I don't expect it to, it's Xenon Portable. Smile
    5. Cut doesn't seem to work when clicking the button, and pasting files displays the cut screen.

I think those are the only problems I had. It's looking awesome!

    Amazing!

I never tried it before but now I gave it a shot and its simply amazing. I really like it. It was a little slow in displaying the folder content but I have to use it more to really compare this. Other than that I have some suggestions:

    • Association editor could have a save&cancel button
    • It would be nice to have a delete icon next to copy/cut/paste
    • Whats the "show..Item" thing for?
    • I really like the tile view!!!

    Great work.

I just realized that I still have to try Partick´s Icons and the 1.4 version. I will!

BTW I like your "mirroring system" Smile but on you homepage, the main xenon window is moved to the right. Shouldn't it stay in its white frame?

    EDIT

It really is slow displaying folders like Computer.
I think the splash screen fades too slowly. Could be faster.
Where am I supposed to put Patricks icons so I can choose them in the menu without overwriting the original ones?

    Sorry for all the (noob-)questions...

    Great!

Version 1.4 passes my tests. It works perfectly, with only one complaint. I'm on a 1440 by 990 pixel screen, and the copy, paste, delete, etc screens are rather large. Other than that, just perfect.

Just a comment: Is there a reason that you have not used an NSIS installer? If you want, I can make you one.
