I can't get infrarecorder to work in VISTA. I get "scanning SCSI/IDE bus" but get no further. Assistance would be appreciated.

I doubt it's a launcher thing but however I can't recreate the circumstance I don't have a copy of Vista anymore but hey hope this was somewhat helpful and Welcome to the forums

on Vista Home premium and it worked, just be patience, the scan takes a loong time...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
hm... i wonder why it takes so much longer to scan on vista. it's most likely a problem with the program itself, not the portable version. hopefully they will fix it in the 0.45 release. But yeah it supports vista and even is supposed to have a cool thing where it makes smoke on your screen while it's burning a cd if you have Vista with Aero.
I'm running Vista Ultimate on all the computers in the house and the scan doesn't take any longer than normal. Only issue I have is that, on my laptop, it can't automatically detect the drive letter of my DVD drive for whatever reason. I have to select the drive letter each time (even though the correct letter is selected by default in the resulting dialog o_O).
As for the smoke thing, for some reason it only works if you burn a project. Burning ISOs (which I do far more often) doesn't produce any smoke.
