This release is now defunct. Please see GnuCash Portable 2.2.5 Pre-Release 1.
GnuCash is a full featured accounting package originally developed for Linux and recently updated with cross-platform support for Windows. Its features include double-entry accounting, QIF/OFX/HBCI import, online banking support, reports and graphs, scheduled transactions and more. Revision 2 Pre-Release 1 updates GnuCash Portable to allow setting of the language used by GnuCash. Until the next version of the PortableApps.com Platform is released, you must do the following to change the language:
- Run GnuCash Portable at least once.
- Edit GnuCashPortable\Data\Settings\GnuCashPortableSettings.ini.
- Add the following lines:
[Language] LANG=(language abbreviation)
Example language abbreviations: es, de, de_CH
- Restart GnuCash Portable. The new language settings should take effect.

Release Notes:
Revision 2 Pre-Release 1 (2008-03-31):
- Updated launcher to allow changing the language GnuCash uses by either changing a setting in GnuCashSettings.ini manually or changing the language on an upcoming version of the PortableApps.com Platform menu.
- Updated splash screen to use the official GnuCash icon.
I'd test if I could, but 50 megs will take me over my download for the day.
I'd post an update without the GnuCash binaries but more than likely you don't have the locale files installed anyway, which are only in the full installer.

I don't understand what you're saying, the the locales didn't come w/ last weeks release? Perhaps post an update w/ just the locales if it decreases the size a good chunk.
..you could re-install it with all the languages (if you didn't the first time) and then run the update. Here it is.

Thanks very much.
I'll take a crack at it later tonight
Let you know in the morning.
Plus, I'm gonna look at your ini code! hehe!

Too many bridges you can burn
Too many tables you can't turn

iv'e been testing this for a few days found no problems
if you don't know-ee you should ASCII
Okay, worked good, once I installed the languages.
Note: It wouldn't launch when I reinstalled it to my desktop(cause I forgot the languages), but I only tried once, and I didn't try over. I'll try later.

Please try and see if you can duplicate that issue. I've tried installing the update on a 2.2.4 install without language files installed and it launched just fine even with the [Language] section in GnuCashPortableSettings.ini, it just didn't change the language.

This seems to have fallen through the cracks. 2.2.5 is due out April 28, so we may as well wait until then and roll it up together.
