MoneyManager EX

Program: Money Manager EX

License: GNU/GPL

Description: Money Manager Ex© is a free, open-source, cross-platform, easy-to-use personal finance software. It primarily helps organize one's finances and keeps track of where, when and how the money goes. It is also a great tool to get a bird's eye view of your financial worth.

Money Manager includes all the basic features that 90% of users would want to see in a personal finance application. The design goals are to concentrate on simplicity and user-friendliness - something one can use everyday.

I would really like to see this program be made into a PortableApp. I currently use this application on my desktop and I think it would be nice to have it as a portableapp so that when I am away from home and using another computer I can easily check the status of my bank account even if I don't have access to an internet connection.

May I recommend GnuCash

May I recommend GnuCash Portable as an alternative? Is has very similar functionality, and is already an official PortableApps.com Application.

GnuCash

I have tried GnuCash and I can't get it working with the help of the Portableapps forum or the GnuCash support forum. It crashes on my system and on my portableapps drive and so I gave up on it and started looking for an alternative.

It looks like it's already

It looks like it's already portable. I just tested it using RegShot to look for files and registry keys left behind, and found none (this is with the Win2K, XP, Vista zip file package).

It should be pretty simple to put into official PortableApps.com Format, i'll give it a go later this week. I should have something up by the weekend.

Thanks

Thanks a bunch Zach. MoneyManager has worked well for me since I could not get GNUCash to work properly and now that I can install MoneyManager on my PortableApps drive, that will make it that much better so I can now use it on my work PC, my fiancé's PC and anywhere else I happen to be where I need to check my bank information.

Not a problem, glad I could

Not a problem, glad I could help out. MMEX Portable is still a test release, but everything appears to be working properly as is.
