Application: Synkron
Category: Utilities
Description: Synkron is an application used to synchronize directories. It features a tabbed interface, so multiple syncs can be running at the same time, a blacklist of files or folders to be ignored, scheduling and backups, and recovery of files that were overwritten during a synchronization.

Development Test 2 (2008-05-08): Made help.html, and readme.txt files generic
This program is great.
Just some extra catches. Remove the version number from the first line of the Readme in the Source directory. Remember, I can't spell, so change Contributers to Contributors. You still have a fade on the splash, line 204. I'd say put the generic portable help topics in in the help file until you do get some pages set up because you may not, although for this app they would be handy.
Think that's it, nice work.
I just saw a folder left at %userprofile%\.Synkron with various folders and (.rar) files inside it dated march 25, 2008.

thanks for catching that....i'll look into this now.
Edit: I can't seem to recreate this. Did you change any settings, or set up a blacklist?

The only changes that I made, then deleted without it taking effect, was add a filter for iso files. I found, in my Restore section of Synkron, .rar files. They appear to be Frets on Fire songs, but I have not downloaded, restored, used, etc. any FOF songs. In fact, even though I downloaded FOF, I've never played it. I really don't know how those files got into that folder. If you can't recreate this, then I'll just keep a closer eye on this app and see if it happens again.

That's really odd. I'll try again to recreate it

I see Synkron has been updated to 1.4. I'll update my package to the latest PAF specs and new version soon. the workload at school is slowing down this week, so i should actually have free time now

Hi,
Any idea when 1.4 may be ready? I am using 1.4, non-portable, at present. Made it "portable", for now, by installing, copying the folder to the USB stick, and uninstalling again. Not the right way to do it, I know, but it's only a "comforter" anyway ...
If you can't enjoy yourself, enjoy somebody else ...
I translated Synkron 1.5.0 into polish and the new version
should be out in the next days.
Better you update the portable one to the 1.5.0 version!
Thanks!
1.5.0 version of Synkron released!
Hi!
I found this entry and would be very happy if there would be a portable version of Synkron 1.5.0.
Is there any chance for it?
Thanks
IT
I know we're not supposed to ask for portableapps updates when the base application is updated, but...
This is version 1.30, and people have noted in this thread that 1.50 was released. I went to the Synkron web site and see that 1.60 is the (now) current version.
So has this portableapps effort been abandoned?

My efforts have stopped. School is kinda taking over my life again. I put all my apps up for grabs a while ago, I don't remember who volunteered to take this one.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I might try dropping the new version into the old launcher and see if anything gets left behind.

Right now, Sincron has version 1.6.1
I have the same idea as you, of dropping the new version inside the folders of the actual instalation. But you said in the last message that will test it. I wish to know if it worked well.
Sincerily,

I could do this if nobody else is coming forward.
Can I assume that there are no objections to me uploading 1.6.0?
Feel free!

This is just what I've been looking for! And if you ask me, I like it better than Toucan!
I'd like to try this one. If it more easier to customise or use. Since Toucan cannot revers it's process in one or two clicks away. Where can I download it? Thank you.
