Looks like it'll work :D.

I have a few things you can look at:

  • You left the em tag open in your post, please use the edit tab to change it.
  • Your app is standalone, right? If it is, you don't need to write a launcher, instead you could simply put it in place of the launcher, and put a readme.txt under the folder where the exe used to be explaining that the app is standalone. You can see an example with WinMD5Sum Portable.
  • Just wondering, what's the license?
  • If you're planning to keep the launcher, add your copyright in comments under John T. Haller's and change the legalcopyright in the viversionaddkey to PortableApps.com and Contributors.
  • Oh, I see why you wanted the launcher... You wanted the splash...
  • But the thing is, you can't alter a splash because 1)The splash is trademarked, and 2)Dev Tests are supposed to use the splash found here.
  • The includes in the source folder were never used in your launcher. You can simply delete them.
  • In the installer, you have unneeded pre-install code between lines 211 and 215. You can delete them too.
  • You're missing a few icons. You can use something like IcoFX to make the required sizes shown here.
  • If it's a new version, you should reset the Development Test number to 1.

For the most part, it's better than most people's launchers :D.
@Patrick:I'm scared that you're going to scare me by telling me that I forgot to be nice :P.

Yeah

The line above that wasn't to nice. Are you including yourself in that 'most people' generalization? Blum

Done

Just wondering, what's the license?

Freeware

In the installer, you have unneeded pre-install code between lines 211 and 215. You can delete them too.

Done as well

> You're missing a few icons. You can use something like IcoFX to make the required sizes shown here.

We have no other icons at the moment

# If it's a new version, you should reset the Development Test number to 1.

Done as well

We have also removed spash screen which pointless anyway.
So no "Trademarks" broken etc.

I believe that software is very stable now and ready for release.
What is the procedure?

Mike.

This site currently only

This site currently only hosts and promotes open source applications. However, a freeware and commercial server owned by PortableApps.com is in the works. Since your application is not open source, it currently cannot be promoted on this site. However, I recommend you contact John T. Haller, this site's owner, at the Business Development email address on the contact page. He will be able to provide better information on the freeware/commercial app process, and will get your app ready to be released once the freeware server is built.

licensing problems

i believe your software is freeware. that is no problem since you wrote the software, but from what i've heard there are licensing issues with distributing freeware (your program) with open source (our script templates). we do have freeware apps coming to the site but they will have to have to have new scripts too. someone tell me if i'm right or wrong on this.

Yep

Unless you make it open source, it cannot be here.
