FileZilla logoPortable FileZilla 2.2.23a has been released as a multilingual package. Portable FileZilla is the popular FileZilla FTP client packaged as a portable app, so you can take your ftp client, server list and settings with you. This version updates the included FileZilla binaries to 2.2.23a (fixing a critical security issue) and switches to using split App/Data directories.

Get it from the Portable FileZilla homepage on PortableApps.com.

Unfortunately, FileZilla has dropped support for Win 95/98/Me with the 2.2.23 release. Portable FileZilla 2.2.22 still supports them.

If you have a question about Portable FileZilla or need support, please refer to the Portable FileZilla Support Page or, if that doesn't answer your question, the Portable FileZilla Support Forum.

Windows 95/98/Me Support Dropped: Unfortunately, FileZilla has dropped support for these operating systems with the 2.2.23 release. If you wish to use Portable FileZilla on older Windows OSes, you can still use Portable FileZilla 2.2.22.

Thanks but Filezilla is now useless for me becouse 2.2.23 doesnt support Windows 98SE no more.

R.I.P. Filezilla.

Just use an older version of FileZilla if you need it to run on 98SE. Nobody's forcing you at gunpoint to upgrade...

I have no witty remarks or quotes to share at the moment.

Normally I'd post this in the FileZilla help forum, except this is something that might need to be nipped in the bud now. It appears that there is inconsistencies between the readmes and the .ini:

From \Data\settings\settings_readme.txt

Currently, this directory is used to save a backup of the FileZilla.xml settings file. This is primarily for ease of backup when splitting your applications and data up. Eventually, the actual settings file may be used here.

From PortableFileZilla.ini

FileZillaDirectory=App\filezilla
SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
AdditionalParameters=
WaitForFileZilla=false
FileZillaExecutable=filezilla.exe
DisableSplashScreen=false

# The above options are explained in the included readme.txt

From \Other\PortableFileZillaSource\Readme.txt

The Portable FileZilla Launcher will look for an ini file called PortableFileZilla.ini within its directory. If you are happy with the default options, it is not necessary, though. The INI file is formatted as follows:

FileZillaDirectory=filezilla
SettingsDirectory=settings
AdditionalParameters=
WaitForFileZilla=false
FileZillaExecutable=filezilla.exe
DisableSplashScree=false

Edit: It looks as though the real settings file, FileZilla.xml, is actually still stored in the same folder as FileZilla.exe, \App\filezilla\ . As noted in \Data\settings\settings_readme.txt, the files in \Data\settings\ continue to only be backups and have little actual influence on the program.

The readme file just lists the old location. It switched from settings to Data\settings. Not a huge deal as anyone can figure it out just by looking at the app. I'll fix it when I get back from Russia.

FileZilla is an FTP Client. You want something like getright or wackget. I think theres a portable version of wackget someone posted somewhere on the forums. And next time use the forums.
