Howdi,
Something that drives me nuts , and I am not sure if it is just a plain Thunderbird issue or if it is something to do with the Portable Version . I frequently search through old email for items .. When I search the old email and come up with a list - Many times I like to sort it by date --- WHile some sorting definately happens , It is never still completely sorted by date and I always ending up scrolling through emails ... Anyone know the solution ?
Thanks ,
Catfish
- open tb, search the menu "view/sort by../date
- open tb, open the folder you want to search, on top of the display, below the menu, you can click on the tabs "date..", "sender","recipient".. you can sort back and forth, if missing then you can add it by clicking on the little icon right next to the tabs and add categories

Thanks for the effort -- That just does not work from Local Folders/Advanced Features/Search Messages Tab ...

on your tbp? I can't seem to follow it.
For me, I've been clicking on the top of the headers to sort by what I want it to sort. This worked regardless of what was searched or not, it just sorted by what was in the pane.

you don´t need the search function on local folders ( too rudimentary); it´s only useful, when you have a header, title or something like that..
@consul: just click on your local folders tree left in the display and you´ll get your advanced features..

yeah, I just use the search bar at the top right (where I put the search message box) and then click on the headers to sort.
