Thank you!!!
Sooo fast!
With thanks and admiration
Thank you, Mr Haller, for all you do. Firefox Portable 3 already too. Bravo and best wishes!
This is the new one?
Not just the last release candidate ?
Yup
This packages the new official Mozilla Firefox 3 release that was posted at 1pm PDT today. Anything posted before that may not be the actual official build.
You Mean...
10pm PDT, 1pm EST? That's what I think it was... unless they released late.
Thank You!
Thank you for this release, right in the download day.
I am wondering how to upgrade from Firefox Portable 2 keeping all my information and without risking stability of the new version.
Backup
A backup would be a good way to ensure you save all your stuff just in case... as a general rule, that's a good idea whenever you make a change to your important software. You can use the built in PortableApps.com Backup utility in the PortableApps.com Platform. Or just save a copy of your existing FirefoxPortable directory. But an upgrade of 2.0 to 3.0 of the portable version is just as smooth as upgrading the local version. If you have further questions, please post them in the forums so everyone can help address them.
import passwords from portable firefox 2 to portable firefox 3
Hi!
I have passwords in a Firefox 2 (portable version) in one USB key.
I have the new Firefox 3 (portable version) in another USB key.
How can I import passwords in my new Firefox 3 ?
Thanks!
Export/Import your password
You may use Magic Password Generator 1.5 :

What's new in launcher?
Firefox 3 Final release is exactly identical to RC2-RC3 for Windows, so if the launcher has no change, i'll stick with the previous release. Thank you .
New things
-Bug fix: Extentions and Crash report folders were left behind
-Asks on startup for cache saving (for slow/fast drives)
For full details, check out the beta testing forum. https://portableapps.com/node/14077
Edit: I have a Portable Firefox 3 installed already, which has settings/addons I'd like to keep. Is it ok to install this to my FireFox 3 Test folder? (Renamed to replace the older version of course)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yay!
Thanks for the quick update. I've been waiting for this, my old FF2 Portable got a litte messed up with having too many extensions, and I'm goning to start from scratch for this update.
Remember to download the local version so you get counted in Mozilla's World Record!
Brilliant!
Wow...Simply brilliant!
A thousand thank yous my hard
A thousand thank yous my hard working friend
Seriously though cheers John
PA picking up speed?
I've been pleasantly surprised with the amount of updates lately, and I am completely floored that Firefox 3 is available today on PortableApps.com -- no temptation to ask when it's going to be released (only to hear "when it's ready")
THANK YOU!
PA picking up speed?
Not really.
FF3 was such a big project that it required RCs from Mozilla which gave us something to work with early.
Give it time, people will be moaning and groaning "gimmes" soon enough ;-P
At least with John's apps they will always be ready "when they're ready"
and I for one am grateful for that
Tim
o_O
Good news!
Thank you
Thank you for your work of Chinese version.
Thank you!
Let's try this baby. ~_o
Thanks
I guess I will wait a bit. Untill I see all major extensions updated. I'll wait for at least 3.0.0.1 before I try it.
Default home page.
Did you miss adding the start.portableapps.com homepage as the default or a change of mind? I thought it helped support the cause? I personally made the change.
Can't
Unfortunately, due to licensing agreements with Mozilla, PortableApps.com can not change the default home page. The best option we have is the checkbox on the suite installer. I don't think adding that to the Firefox Portable installer would be allowed, nor looked well upon by Mozilla.
Firefox Download Day
Are these downloads going to be added onto the total for Firefox 3 downloads for today?
No
This is NOT the official firefox 3, and will not count. (After all, the record is for most downloads of a SINGLE file in 24 hours)
Well done!
Thanks much for the speedy posting! Had to do a special workaround to get the Morning Coffee extension to work in version 3.0 but thankfully the extension author had the instructions posted.
fast upgrade, thanks, and..
fast startup: despite all murmur on FFP3 being sooo slow, mine is up within 10 seconds, even after changing the PC -FFP2 (same user profile) took at least 30sec!
So, once again thanks..:))
AWESOME!
I hoped this would be in PortableApps Format! Thank you guys alot xD

broken files - go to support page :), try a fresh install, no copying over in order to set up a new profile folder
Awesome
Firefox 3 is so much better than Firefox 2, even though a few of my fave addons aren't compatible yet.
Is Thuderbird 3 Alpha 1 able to be made into a portableapp? Looking forward to that! Awesome work!!
What happened? This Mozilla
What happened? This Mozilla Firefox version are too slow in my usb memory!
I went back to the old version...
my guess is it's the
my guess is it's the anti-phishing. review the performance improvement section:
https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#performance
Sluggish and roll-back
I disabled the anti-phishing configs and the session storage features, but still was experience extremely sluggish response times will FFX3 was running.
I have rolled back to 2.0.014 for now...
Forums
As always, please take questions and discussions into the forums. There are multiple topics on this as well as possible solutions and discussions of 'fast' flash drives which are actually quite slow with portable apps.
Anti-Phishing
My flash drive is losing space every time I get out of Firefox. When I check my profile file urlclassifier3.sqlite is like 17 MB. Is there any way to stop it from keeping it.

Disable History?
One of the ways to improve firfox's speed and performance was to disable history. But they never told us how. Can anybody here tell me?

great application!
great application!
Huh?
Wait a second, isn't this the installer for 2.0.0.16?
Um
You realize you're commenting on a news story from about 4 months ago, right? Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 3.0.3 and 2.0.0.17 are available from here:
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
You don't understand what I'm saying.
I was trying to say that I downloaded the file linked on this page, and instead of installing Firefox Portable 3.0.3, it installed 2.0.0.16. So I'll try that link.
What Link?
What file linked on this page? There's a link to the Firefox Portable homepage with the correct link on it.
