I'm a great artist.

http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/6850/pacomquiznos9tc.png

I am bored and my measly 2.93GHz P4 is sucking up too much transcoding DVD's to do anything useful besides use MS Paint (and besides come here of course Wink )

John, I hereby give you the rights to use this image in T-Shirts, Bumperstickers, Coffe Mugs, Toxic Waste labeling, and anything else you see fit! Wink

The general concept is mine, but you can spruce it up!

Although the Quiznos Subs people may not like it heheh.

Just thought I'd share my proud-to-be-geek boredom artistry!

(I know it sucks, it took two minutes and its a joke)

The gecko ad is for car

The gecko ad is for car insurance. I hate the advertising, but even so, I broke one of my own rules. I usually avoid company's with bad advertising, but I've got full coverage on my buick from them. ($160 cheaper every year, but I still get mad at myself.)

The gecko talks about what great insurance they have and tries to spread the word. Like I said, I wish my pet geckos could talk, that would be some great conversation.

/end sarcasm Blum

EDIT: I should have put some lettuce and cheese on the sandwich, as it would have made it clearer, lol. Well, hindsight is 20/20.

The gecko ad

Was a bit odd. "Pie with chips"? I think I can safely say that most people over here didn't get that one.

Don't feel bad. Neither do most Americans. I honestly don't think the ad is supposed to be making fun of any Australian stereotypes or anything. I really just think the Geico ads are supposed to be stupid.

Personally, I like the gecko ads. Way better than Geico's "but it's okay, because I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance" ad campaign. Those were freakin' Annoying with a capital A.

The man has a damn good

The man has a damn good point. Now those ads were truly annoying. But come on, a talking gecko? Stupidity in advertising is almost as bad as not obeying truth in advertising. But, of course, that bird flew away long ago. And besides, my geckos resent it! Wink They're jealous that he's so well spoken, when all they can manage is a very little croak-like noise. Lord has that kept me awake before.

The gecko ads are not nearly as stupid as some of the advertising you see on on TV these days... besides, in one of his ads, the Geico Gecko made a good point...

Talk Show Host: Now tell me, why a talking gecko as a spokesperson?
Gecko: Why? Because you can trust a talking gecko. If just any old bloak told you to buy our car insurance you be like ummm who are you? But if a talking gecko asks you to, your like OK! Sign me up, want to babysit my kids?

Yeah, I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember exactly.

It's a stupid way of getting the point across, but the gecko makes a good point. Some dude on a commercial telling you how much you can save on car insurance is boring. The gecko spices things up. Besides, people tend to like anthropomorphic animals.

I've seen said commercial,

I've seen said commercial, and that IS close to truth in advertising, but the fact that people like anthropomorphic animals, makes me a bit sad. But hell, I hate most advertising. I buy most stuff based on consumer reports and consumer reviews. My car insurance is partly based on that, and partly based on the fact that I'm a cheap bastard and saving some extra cash makes me feel happy. Wink

Okay, we should stop replying to this thread. The box is getting really tiny now at 800x600.

Hey, I've been using 800x600 for years and I'm not changing any time soon, even if I suddenly get a gigantic monitor. It's what you get used to, I guess.

Won't change to Highest Quality without me turning the screen res. down. Funny, never did it before I reinstalled XP.

You probably had a specialized driver for your video card before. When you reinstalled XP, you got stuck with a generic MS driver which apparently doesn't support all its features.

It's only going to get so small before you'll have to scroll sideways to see everything. Due to my running at 800x600, I already have to.

Edit: I briefly switched to 1280x960 to check the size of the box, and wow, it's really tiny. Like I said, we should stop replying to this thread.
