I made one for personal use a couple of weeks ago as well, it's based on Karl Loncarek's Portable Application Template, has been running fine so far. Unfortunately, I couldn't test it on different computers. Nice app BTW 
how does soulseeker compare with limewire?
They use two different networks. LimeWire uses Gnutella while Soulseek (I believe) uses its own network. Apples and oranges.

Not really apples and oranges. Gnutella is huge, and it's easy to find things. I hate that I can't use Limewire at the library. I'll try Soulseek, though.
Like apples and oranges. Limewire contains spyware, Soulseek doesn't.
Limewire does not contain spyware. Check the source code yourself.
