Amarok on Windows

We may soon be in luck for having an awesome audio player for Windows. Amarok 2.0 is at alpha 2, and they have a working windows build. binaries aren't yet available though.

That's cool. I used to use

That's cool. I used to use Amarok when I ran Suse 9 a long time ago. I haven't used Linux for a while but Amarok and VLC were the best media players at the time hands down.

yeah, Amarok is pretty great

yeah, Amarok is pretty great for audio, and VLC is pretty good all around. Their new release series (don't remember if it's gonna be 1.9* or 2.*) is gonna be even better from what i've read

Eh.

I kind of like Amarok, but not a whole lot. I'd rather see Songbird, if Ryan ever actually can get it done. Blum

Kinda... I can't say I've used Amarok enough to judge, but I really wanna see Songbird Portable.

I just checked out songbird

I just checked out Songbird because I've been hearing a lot of hype about it on these forums. It looks promising, but it needs to support more formats before I'll convert to it from MediaMonkey. .ape, .shn, .mp2, etc. Granted these are not extremely common formats, but they do exist and the bootleg community uses them extensively. I have a lot of files in these formats and I like to use one program to play all my audio files.
