OxygenOffice as Portable

Can the OxygenOffice 2.4 release be made portable?
Openoffice is good but Oxygen gets 5+ stars in my book.

No having to search all over the web for templates and extensions to OpenOffice then pull hairs trying to figure out how to install them.

I tryed installing most of the templates and common extensions for use in Writer only to have OpenOffice get much slower overall. Oxygen already has all this preinstalled and is just as fast as a standard Ooo install. A true heeper!

Doubtful

All the important bits of OxygenOffice are available as free addons to OpenOffice.org and all already work with OpenOffice.org Portable. All the really important ones are going to be in OpenOffice.org 3 which is in testing and we're releasing a test portable package this week. Plus OpenOffice.org is better maintained by a huge group of developers and will continue to be for the forseeable future.

Plus, the OxygenOffice developers knowingly violated the SourceForge Terms of Service for over a year by including closed source code in their packages and refusing to remove it after being made aware of the rules. It apparently took SF to instruct them to remove before they finally did. So, not really the kind of project we want to work with.

No Portable OxygenOffice, yet :-(

https://portableapps.com/node/10693 is as old as 2007. We are now into 2008 and no one has yet come up with a portable version of OxygenOffice. Openoffice 3 will not be portable as mentioned in other forum posts. I would also like a portable version of OxygenOffice. My bigest interest is being able to open and edit Office 2007 files. Openoffice 3 beta 2 is not portable and from what I understand can only inport not export office 2007 files. Openoffice 3 beta 2 has a problem with the spell checker as of last time I tried useing it, it showed everything as being misspelled, even correctly spelled items.

Beta 2 is portable and will support spell checker ...

... but export of office 2007 is not supported.

OxygenOffice has license issues, that's the main stopper to make it portable.
If You need it portable, You could try to replace the folder openofice with the folder of a local oxygenoffice install. But keep in mind that some of the AddOns or OxygenOffice could leave traces and stuff!

huh?

Open Office 3 is released as beta so I don't think it "will not be portable". That would be too much of a shame.

As I said before ...

it will be portable. In fact it is ready (only the release in on stand by, cause I still wait for an answer of John).
