Media Player Classic Home Cinema

With the latest version 1.1.0.0 just released on 5 March 2008, Media Player Classic Home Cinema now has Xvid/DivX codecs built in. Now you do not need to install ffdshow or any other codecs. Just one simple executable application.

I knew that PortableApps had

I knew that PortableApps had VLC, but I did not know that they had a build of MPlayer now. I guess I haven't checked this place out for quite some time. I'm glad to see MPlayer included in PortableApps.

Good question. Media Player Classic probably doesn't do anything additional that isn't already covered by VLC or MPlayer. I'm probably not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the differences either.

From my experience, Media Player Classic (MPC) has always performed much quicker then the others because it is Windows-only and not cross platform. It is a DirectX player and is capable of making use of any QuickTime or WMP codecs already on an existing system. Personally, I like the fact that it is already pretty much portable because it is a single executable file and doesn't require installation.

I know that many users have wanted to see ffdshow codecs portable for many years now so that it could be used with MPC. Now that MPC finally has the Xvid/DivX built in, that is quite handy.

Probably no need to add this to PortableApps though since it already has the other 2 media players.

Cheers,
Dave

MPC - Home Cinema as a portable App !!!

Now Media Player Classic Home Cinema have several languages and
many codecs build in! FLV files are played better than in VLC and the
support of subtitles is more friendly!

I want to vote for MPC - Home Cinema as a portable App!
Is that possible here?

Thanks
