portable apps menu change?

Would it be possible for the next release?

Currently, I have firefox2 and firefox3 installed to portable. On the menu however, both show up "Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition" which is the "product name" at assembly.

Could it be possible that this is changed to read product name only if summery subject is not added? This way, the user can control how it appears on the menu.

Thanks
Mike

that would be nice

Menu in general needs to be more customizable. Add/remove specific apps (even if it finds the exe or doesn't), rename launcher buttons, customize folder shortcuts (I will rarely if ever use the Music folder).

It does it's job very well (I love the free space meter at the bottom) but would benefit from a bit of tweaking.

Mod the Menu

Have you considered one of the PortableApps.com menu "mods"???

For instance, the R34 mod allows categories, permits apps to be in subdirectories, permits renaming the app, and lots more.

To be up-front with you, the menu mods are unofficial forks of the official menu. As such, they are not officially supported, but you will find plenty of help and discussion here.

great

Good to know that it's planned. And, neutron, I shall try the mod just to see what it does.

By the way, portable apps is the best freaking thing ever right now... especially the Putty and browser apps for us developer types.
Thanks

I have

the same set-up. I've found that if you'll let your cursor hover over the items in the menu, a bubble will appear and show the identity of the item your cursor is over.
