I see "FTP_synchronizeA.dll" in E:\PortableApps\Notepad++Portable\App\Notepad++\plugins\
However I downloaded a copy of the plugin from the official website here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927&package_id=...
Included in the zip file was a text file called "What file to use.txt", which says:
----
There are now 2 files in the package. One file is Unicode, the other one is ANSI.
I recommend the Unicode version on WinNT and later, and ANSI on Win9x/WinME.
Unicode:
FTP_synchronize.dll
ANSI:
FTP_synchronizeA.dll
you can still use the unicode version on Win9x if you have unicows.dll installed
----
My question is why are we bundled with the Win9x/WinME version by default instead of the WinNT version? Baring in mind that XP and above is NT based...
Nobody uses 9x anymore do they? Not even for portable apps!
PS. How come Notepad++ doesn't have it's own forum section?
Uhh, because that's the dll packaged with Notepad++ standard version? I just checked my installed copy of Notepad++.
If they package the dll with the standard version, why is there also a separate download for it...?
More to the point, I wonder why Notepad++ decided to include that version instead of the other...? Maybe I should ask them...
