Multiple PFF

Submitted by PDD on June 20, 2006 - 6:42am

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if it is possible to have two installations of PFF on the one thumb drive with various different theme's & extensions etc. The reason I ask is that I have PFF on my thumb drive and I use one window for work stuff and another for personal stuff. The problem is that session saver makes a meal out of the session settings for each so what I wanted to do was have one seperate PFF for work with all the extensions etc that I need and then another seperate PFF for personal use both independent of each other and with session saver remembering correctly for each of them. Is this possible?

What kind of files would be written into flashdriver when using ff?

I've already disabled the session function. However, there's something still keep writing in my flash driver when I open new tab. My flash driver light shines and firefox stops for some time. Did I forget something? Can anyone tell me what kind of files would be written into the flash driver?

I found one posible is flash file(swf). When I load a page containing a flash, light shines and FF stops.

Tor + Portable Firefox

Is there a clear and simple guide for adding my old Portable Firefox profile with all my extensions and bookmarks to my new Tor?

If not, can someone post one here?

Sorry for the trouble, but I have been googling this for the last hour, and already screwed up several installations of Tor.

It's much appreciated.

I was just wondering if there was some kind of advantage to running u3 PFF over the regular version.

Which OS do I have?

I am trying to install some of the plugins for Portable Firefox. Only problem is that I use it on several different operating systems (mainly Windows XP/2000 and Ubuntu Linux). Which one should I use when installing plugins with different versions for different OSs?

The 3 fears of autoupdate.

Submitted by pwright2 on June 12, 2006 - 11:20pm

When faced with letting Firefox's autoupdate feature do an update to PortableFirefox, there are 3 fears:

1. Some of the extensions will stop working. Ok, this one is guaranteed. They tell you about it and even tell you which one. It doesn't matter that you are portable, it's a FFX thing.

2. Your install will be corrupted. One of the joys of portability and big drives is that you can drag a copy off somewhere and, if the original is munged, just bring the good copy back.

3. Your portable FFX will become a non-portable install. Well, I have just gone thru updating of both PFFX and PTB. In both cases, the mini-upgrade fails, the full upgrade succeeds. And while there are Mozilla, Firefox, and Thunderbird folders in Documents and Settings, all the folders are empty.

Where is the Portable Firefox 1.5.0.4?! -Why you release the 1.5.0.3 version so fast, but there is still no 1.5.0.4??!

Hey there,

why there is still no Portable Firefox 1.5.0.4 version available?!

Your update and release of Portable Firefox version 1.5.0.3 was so fast and now?

And no, I don't want to download 1.5.0.3 and then update to 1.5.0.4..

You could say the same procedure to Portable Firefox 1.5.0.2 and then autoupdate to 1.5.0.3..!

Please release it soon, I can hardly wait for this.

thx in advance!

best regards,
