Firefox Portable

I am running FF Portable (17.0.1) for the first time today. I installed it onto a flash drive then tried running it from there. I expected that it would not have any plugins but it loaded all my local plugins and could it could run flash and Unity3d.

When I go to "Add-ons" I see the same list of plugins as I would see running the local desktop copy of FF.

I'm confused because, for one, I don't want this behaviour, and two, I didn't think it could even happen.

How do you install extensions and addons to portable firefox?
I have full FF install on my comp and would like some of them (like privacy ones) on the portable FF I take with me.

I thought this would be in FAQ but it is not.

No one seems to have thought of this problem.
Firefox (regular) can import profile from other browsers
but NOT from Firefox PORTABLE.
And if you paste the portable file folder contents
into the Firefox regular profile folder
it just freezes up.

HOW CAN ONE MIGRATE FROM PORTABLE to REGULAR ????

i installed firefox portable to install flash player , but its not showing up in my portableapps menu after i install it.
It says 'installed succesfully' and that i can access it from the portable apps menu but its not there??
does anyone know why and how i can fix it? thanks a lot

Can you please give me a link to Portable FF 16? FF17 only added problems so far. I'm also curious why do you remove the previous version as soon as the new comes out? Having the version just before the last one would help people like me.

How can it continue to work once the program itself is removed from the computer?

(I mean of course it can't store anything anymore, but I figured it'd crash)

Firefox Portable doesn't backup/restore the Crash Reporter keys. This is the preference under Advanced -> General -> "Submit Crash Reports".

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Start Firefox Portable
2. Go to Options
3. Hit the Advanced tab, then General
4. Disable Submit Crash Reports
5. Close Firefox Portable
6. Observe that a registry value has been created without cleanup. HKCU\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reporter\SubmitCrashReports

There seems to be a problem with the latest version of FF 17.0 in that you can edit your cookie settings and exceptions and that the profile database for such settings isnt retaining the information. Apparently it throws it out as a bug and ignores the error so nothing is seen just the entry is deleted.

I have noticed this occuring when logging into several forums and it accepts and logs me in then reloads the page but Iam logged out. I have altered several settings within FF and it still occurs.

I was wondering when Firefox 17 ESR would be out.

I'm learning portable apps coding so I decided to try something basic: I installed FF Portable and deleted the FireFoxPortable.exe to see if I could use the source code to recreate it. I have the PortableLauncher Generator and NSIS Unicode installed, but when I use the Launcher Generator to to recreate a working exe file, opening FireFoxPortable.exe shows an error app/appinfo/launcher/FireFoxPortable.ini is missing. That's odd, because FF Portable doesn't install that folder or file.

What am I missing here?
