Features

KeePass Portable ScreenshotKeePass is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish). Learn more about KeePass....

New In This Release

This release includes several new additions:

  • KeePass Update - KeePass has been updated to 1.10 adding in new features and bug fixes
  • Digitally Signed - Both the installer and launcher are digitally signed so you can be sure you're getting the real thing
  • PortableApps.com Installer - KeePass is now packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer for easier installation and automatic integration with the PortableApps.com Platform

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

KeePass is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

An Update!
It works without leaving anything.
And fyi I updated the german page. I guess there will be a german version by Marko soon...?
In 1.10 they even have placeholders for browsers but unfortunately they only work with installed browsers (if I read their page correctly).

KeePass is multilingual (you just have to add the language pack). Once the new multilingual code is done, it'll be a single installer and single launcher with all languages.

Unless Marko or you wants to do all the work on it and email it over. If you do, I'll digitally sign it and post it to SF. Basically it would involve swapping the strings in the installer and launcher and recompiling, adding in the German language file form the KeePass site and making a change to the DefaultData to set it to German. I'm not going to be doing this for the current round of updates with multilingual apps as it's prohibitive timewise. If you two would like to do German packages, that would be great, though. I think we can pass on French and Italian for now as the download numbers are pretty low.

I'll do a German package.
Where should I email it to?
The developers_developers>>portableapps>>com address?

You can email it to mine directly (I think you have it), otherwise developers is fine.

the Website to the German one or leave it?

And I just noticed that I can run 2 instances at a time. Shouldn't the Launcher prevent that?

Another thing: I get a warning when I compile the installer:
1 warning:
unknown variable/constant "{SectionMain}" detected, ignoring (C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Administrator\Desktop\PAPPS\KeePass\KeePassPortable\Other\Source\PortableApps.comInstaller.nsi:165)

Is that normal?

Another idea:
Wouldn't it be nice if the Installer display the Version of the App he installs?

wouldn't have thought that two instances was a problem. And that compiler warning is perfectly normal AFAIK.

In my (limited) testing the placeholders feature does work with Firefox Portable (though I have no idea how it finds it). What I've noticed is that if you have Firefox running everything works perfectly. If you don't KeePass will open it but it doesn't use the launcher. You end up with a version running from a new profile. (No bookmarks, etc.)

Firefox installed?
But I think we shouldn't discuss it here but open a new thread instead...

And here's my attempt at one. I replicated the original as close as possible by enlarging it to 512x512 and making the new one over that. I made it in Fireworks MX 2004, and everything is vectors except the top part of the key (even the shadows on that are vectors). If you'd like one without the shadows, or with them on other parts, or different shades, etc., it's easy to change. Hope you like it!!
