New In This Release

This release updates Notepad++ to 4.8.1 (release notes), adds support for moving older plugin config files not places in plugins/config for use with PortableApps.com Backup and has an updated installer that leaves existing Explorer plugins unaltered.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Notepad++ Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

works as expected. There seems to be still a problem with the older plugin support (See this post).

EDIT

I just discovred that the fresh version looks different than the one I have updated version by version. So I deleted my /Data folder but the "old" look ermained. I think the reason is that in 4.8 and 4.8.1, the \App\DefaultData\settings folder only has 2 files (shortcuts.xml and contextMenu.xml) but the 4.2.2 version has 9 files. These dont get deleted from the defaultdata folder so if I delete my Data folder I get these old files copied over from Defaultdata and ergo I get a different look. Seems like the new version creates these files on first run but the old one (4.2.2) was dependent on them.

Is there a fix?
Maybe have the installer delete those unneeded files?
So if I delete my Data folde I get "the new look"?

I hope I made myself clear enough Smile
