logoTeamViewer Portable 5.1.9290 has been released. TeamViewer is a remote PC support/control and screen-sharing tool. You can remote control a partner's desktop to give online assistance, or you can show your screen to a customer without worrying about firewalls, IP addresses and NAT. It's released as freeware for personal, education and non-profit use (business use requires a license).

Story Topic:

I get the following running this:

The license code in the'TeamViewer.ini' configuration file is not a valid enterprise concurrent license.
TeamViewer Portable is only running in limited demostration mode.

And it created an empty dir at %appdata%\TeamViewer.
And a reg entry HKCU\software\TeamViewer\MachineFallback

I get the same message (updated to current version via Manage Apps > Check For Updates)

It does seem to still work though Smile

Hi there,

We will change this behaviour once again with the next update, so there won't be a message showing up again. However the message itself doesn't affect the functionality of TeamViewer.

In regards to the folder which is created. We'll have a look at that. The portable version shouldn't create any new folders if you didn't change the .ini file and run it from the dedicated folder.

The new version displays this message to let you know you're not in enterprise mode. The functionality is unchanged. The files left behind are a bug and are being reported to the publisher (we don't publish TeamViewer Portable, TeamViewer themselves does).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

it does take quite a bit... i wonder if whoever does the updates needs a notification? i check daily for about 30 apps for my own DropBox toolkit... i could notify whoever makes the portable TeamViewer since I am always checking...

if thats the issue that is...

since theres already another update out...

As John said above, the developers of Teamviewer itself are responsible for the portable version. I doubt they need to notify themselves when there's a new version to portabalize. I expect once they become more comfortable with the PAF format you'll see the portable release almost mirroring the standard release in terms of availability date.

Thanks for your feedback. We are aware of your comments but also need some time to do the changes and to release the new version.

BTW: The message box doesn't show up anymore by now.
