logoSpeedyFox Portable 2.0.16 has been released. SpeedyFox speeds up local and portable versions of Firefox, Thunderbird, Chrome, Skype and more by optimizing their settings storage. Even better, SpeedyFox Portable is pre-configured to detect your PortableApps.com packages of your portable apps so you don't need to manually select them. This release updates to the latest version and improves startup speed. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. SpeedyFox is freeware for business and personal use.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotSpeedyFox optimizes the sqlite databases that many apps use to store their settings, bookmarks, history and other data. It works with Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Skype, Google Chrome, SRWare Iron, and more. It will list and pre-select to optimize all the local apps it finds. And, in a PortableApps.com exclusive, the portable version will automatically detect and set itself to optimize Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition (stable, ESR and Test); Mozilla Thunderbird, Portable Edition (stable, ESR and Test); Google Chrome Portable (Stable, Beta and Dev); and Iron Portable.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

SpeedyFox Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

I am so glad SpeedyFox is available as a portable application and that it automagically detects all my portables. Smile

Could someone help? SpeedyFox found system installed Opera 38 but it detects neither Opera Portable Edition 38 nor Opera Portable Edition Legacy.

I tried running command line running but I might be doing something wrong. I tried pointing to /Opera:G:\PortableApps\OperaPortable\App\DefaultData\profile , /Opera:\PortableApps\OperaPortable\App\Opera\38.0.2220.41

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working. Which directory should I point it to? Would it be possible to add automatic support for both Opera Portable Edition and Opera Portable Edition Legacy?

You should be able to select it manually via the UI.

Note that Opera 12 should absolutely not be used any longer as it almost definitely has show-stopper security issues at this point. It is not supported by Opera or us. Opera 38 may or may not receive additional security updates and should only be used on Windows XP. I would go so far as to recommend the local edition over the portable one as we likely will not find out about any new releases of it due to the fact that it is barely mentioned on the Opera site and updates are not announced.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
