Iron Portable 57.0.3000.0 has been released. SRWare Iron is 'The browser of the future' - based on the free Sourcecode "Chromium" - but without some features that privacy advocates object to. This release updates to the latest version and fixes an issue preventing manual language selection. It's packaged in Format so it can easily integrate with the Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Iron is packaged for portable use with permission from SRWare.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the Platform.

ScreenshotIron is based on the open source Chromium source code that the Google Chrome browser is based on. Iron does not include the unique ids, timestamps, custom error pages and other information present in some Google Chrome packages.

Learn more about Iron... Installer / Format

Iron Portable is packaged in a Installer so it will automatically detect an existing installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in Format, so it automatically works with the Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Iron Portable is available for immediate download from the Iron Portable homepage. Get it today!

G'day John,

Should this release be Iron Portable 57.0.3000.0?
As that is the currently latest released version, & the just released Iron Portable 56.0.2950.1 seems to have components that belong to 57.0.3000.0.

Thank you Very Much,
Best Regards,

Good Day from The Land Downunder

This release was originally posted with the wrong version number. It's been fixed. Apologies for the confusion.
