A new version of Iron Portable has been released. SRWare Iron is 'The browser of the future' - based on the free Sourcecode "Chromium" - but without some features that privacy advocates object to. This release updates to the latest version and fixes an issue preventing manual language selection. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Iron is packaged for portable use with permission from SRWare.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotIron is based on the open source Chromium source code that the Google Chrome browser is based on. Iron does not include the unique ids, timestamps, custom error pages and other information present in some Google Chrome packages.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Iron Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

You can report outdated apps and follow along on their progress in the Outdated Apps Thread: https://portableapps.com/development/outdated

For future reference this can be found from the Support and Development pages as well as in the header when creating a forum post.

Hi John,
This is not about an outdated version, Iron developers fixed the issue without changing anything in version numbers/build to indicate the change/fix. The corrected version is still 71.0.3700.0, they just replaced the binaries as if they were there all along...

as always, should any of the above seem greek to you, don't worry; it probably is...

It's still considered a new version even if it has the same number. The update you're mentioning was already built and mirroring when you posted. In the future, you can give the details you gave above in the Outdated Apps thread if it isn't already addressed there.
