A new version of VLC Media Player Portable has been released. VLC Portable is the popular VLC media player packaged as a portable app, so you can take your audio and video files along with everything you need to play them on the go. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

I have downloaded this latest portable version of VLC 3.0.21 and found it to be suffering the same problem/regression. The previous version of VLC 3.0.20 do not have this problem.
Hopefully the VLC developer proper will have a fix soon.

In the interim, I shall use Potplayer Portable (https://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/potplayer-portable) as alternate player.

Cheers.
