FF 3.0b2 vaporized ALL settings (no, not the usual prefs.js issue)

Ok, I'm using the 3.0b2 FFportableapp. If there is a different forum to post this in since that is a Test edition please let me know and I'll go there.

I've been using 3.0b2 on my corsair usb thumb drive quite happily since it was released in December. While doing some work today the browser froze on me. Ok, no biggie, I killed the task and fired it back up. After the FFPortable splash screen I saw a Mozilla Firefox software license agreement page I have never seen before. Clicking Accept did absolutely nothing. Clicking Cancel closed the window. No firefox.

I went poking around the profile directory and ALL non-default settings were gone. No bookmarks, proxy settings, plugins, extensions. Everything appeared to have been set back to defaults. Obviously there were some things off still since the weird license agreement and the program wouldn't load.

I moved the folder off and reinstalled firefox3.0b2 on the drive and it now loads again, but I can not find any trace anywhere of my bookmarks, history, settings, etc...

Very very very weird.

But that

can happen if you use beta releases, can`t it?
But it still is weired that all your settings were gone...

Yeah...

...I'm not out looking for sympathy. Smile I've already started rebuilding settings and bookmarks...and trying out FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) to backup all my schtuff (gooble browser sync does not work with 3.0b2 yet).

I have the directory that does this craziness backed up and can reproduce it. So, if someone out there is curious and wants me to try / look at something, let me know.
