Noticible Lag with program.

Hello there, I have installed your program on the weekend, and I think it's great! However, I have noticed this lag that seems to happen every 10 or so seconds. Is this due to the device that is running portableapps (i.e. flash drive) or is it the computer?

Would someone be able to answer my question?

It would be the device. It

It would be the device. It is due to Firefox writing to the device which slows it down. See this page for details on how to speed Firefox up.

There was someone else who noticed something very similar a few weeks ago. It looks like it happens infrequently, but it happens.

Did we ever figure out what specifically was causing the problem in that case? I recall we speculated that it was the device.

I did a quick search but didn't locate it.

Two Things

It's usually one of two things:

1. Hardware - the device is simply slow. with a slow controller and slow flash RAM.

2. Extensions - the user has added in an extension that does some sort of session management (writing to the disc every time they do something as little as change tabs)

It's usually a combination of those two. Occasionally, it can be a poorly performing USB port (not enough power, or one that has a short).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
