PortableApps - The icon from the exe in .ico format

Hello!

I would like a copy of the portableapps icons (the exe icon).

In ico format.

So that I can put it in I:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\Icons

And edit that in my autorun.

As the current icon is stuffed.

Please provide me with the .ico file/s.

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

Keep in mind ...

... that the icon is under copyright of Rare Ideas, LLC.
You are not allowed to use (redistribute) or modify it without John Hallers permission.

If You'll use it only for Your own (personal use, that means only You not any other person like 'friends' or familiy) this could be OK, but if You give it to another person You'll distribute it and that is illegal without Johns permission.

Finaly ... welcome on PortableApps.com Smile

Regards
Marko

Well in that case can you

Well in that case can you tell John Hallers to put it in the icons folder... as my icon (from Autorun) keep corrupting. So I think it would be better if I were to have the ico file in the icon folder.

Please ask him!

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

to come closer to the point..

which icon is corrupted, the one from autorun.inf or Your trayicon ?If it is the tray icon that could mean that Your PAM.exe or Your autorun.inf is corrupted.

The icon can be retrieved

The icon can be retrieved from the PAM file pretty easily. IcoFX does a nice job. Resource Hacker can do it also.

You keep saying that the "icon from Autorun" keeps getting corrupted. The standard autorun points to the icon inside PAM. If the icon inside PAM is corrupted, PAM is corrupted, which is a very bad thing. You should be more concerned about how PAM is getting corrupted.

If PAM is being corrupted because you are trying to edit its icon, then, yes, it would be good to extract it into an ICO file first. If autorun is getting changed to point to some other icon, then that might be something to inquire about. (In general, your settings shouldn't get changed without your permission.)

It's possible you mean something else. Can you say where the corrupt icon shows up (notification tray? My Computer? inside PAM?) Does it get corrupt after you do something, or does it ever go back to showing up properly?

It does sometime go back to

It does sometime go back to showing normally.

And the tray icon works fine.

Just when I go to Computer or My Computer, and when I see it's autorun option, the icon is sometimes corrupted.

Please help!

Thanks in advance,

You're talking about the

You're talking about the icon that displays on the same line as the Drive Letter for the removable drive in My Computer (Windows Explorer) as opposed to the icon on one of the folders in your removable drive?

How is it corrupted? Looks bad? Displays the default? Displays some other icon?

Is it good just after a reboot?
