All addressbook entries lost

Suddenly, all my addressbook in my TB port dissappeared.

In which file and location the addressbook is stored?
Is there any way to recover it?

The filename

is abook.mab but I don't know anything about recovering it.

broken is broken

Ok found it, there was also an .bak file to it, but this was created by TB just before and it did say so in an error msg.

Tried to reuse the bak file, but noch luck , every time new bak file was created and TB saying the original can not be read. Bad luck.
But I have backup of the whole stick from last week, so could restore the original back and it works.

Funny: the copy from last week is some 33kb, the 'broken' bak file was 164 kb and I did not enter some larger number of entries since. So something went wrong by itself.

Backups are good
  • Backups can help you recover from all sorts of problems.
  • The most likely cause of corrupt files is disconnecting the USB drive while TB is finalizing its housekeeping.
  • If files end up being corrupted or the wrong size, running CHKDSK /f can't hurt.
