Portable Windows Idea

I had a thought the other day about how its possible to make windows portable, and i figured that the only way to do it legally (i think?) is to run it in a virtual machine. Then technically you are only using it on one machine (the virtual one), and the windows validation wont have to be done repetitively since the specs appear the same (the virtual machine ones).

My idea was to have a very very lightweight linux OS only running virtual machine software, which then automatically starts windows on boot. Yes the performance (eg 3D rendering) wont be great, but it should work on fairly fast machines.
In terms of file size you would use something like nLite to trim it down to a manageable size for a usb drive.

Thoughts on this idea? This isn't a request (it would be nice though), mostly just musings.

Doesn't really make sense

I think that a Pre-installed Environment would be better, like JauntPE.
Microsoft is doing a 'new account' stealthy kind of thing that'll make some kind of virtual enviroment within windows that allows the portable enviroment have all these rights...
