instantbird Portable app request

I would like to see a portable version of this app if there isnt allready one

Program: instantbird

License: GNU General Public License

Description: Instantbird is a multi-protocol Instant Messaging client. Using it, you can connect to all your different IM accounts. It uses the Mozilla rendering engine to display IMs, and the Pidgin libpurple to connect to the different networks. Instantbird is a free and open source software. So you are free to use, distribute and modify it.

Too Early

It's too early in its development cycle for it to be worthwhile. Plus, we've already got Pidgin and Miranda IM covering IM needs very nicely.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

In Addition

In addition to that, I would like to take this app. I've really gotten in to the whole instant messaging scene, and using libpurple with the Mozilla framework is a really neat idea. He plans to release another version increment last August, which will have an executable instead of a bat with parameters, so I'll start on it then as there's less change launcher wise.

I was just toying with this idea today. Just to use a learning tool in PA ....but got yours to see how it worked

The file was deleted due to our inactivity-rule (no downloads)

Can you upload it again??? Thanks!

Pidgin vs InstantBird

Since InstantBird uses the PurpleLib library, also used by Pidgin one would assume that they have almost identical feature-sets. What are the advantages of InstantBird over Pidgin? Is this purely a personal preference? Just curious.

v.1.0 released

Hello,

I hope now its no longer too early for this app to became portable Smile

Would like to use it, cause I like it more than Pidgin or Miranda, today still using Trillian, but I think InstantBird may take more advantage in future.
Also its no good argument, to say, that there are already two other IM in the repertory, cause there are more browser than IM available here - and thats good for all who want to choose, and can choose Smile

Kind regards
