Alternatives [for mobile devices ?]

Hi. I realized that Portable Apps won't work on the new PDA I plan to get. However, I still have need of similar programs to use for Windows Mobile 6. I was wondering if you had a list of recommended programs to substitute Portable Apps. What I really need is a basic text editor for web-creation on the go. By the way, It is listed that Apps can be stored on an iPod...can they also be run via iPod touch?

[Moved to Off Topic by moderator JTH. This site is for portable apps, not Windows Mobile software. So, like discussing Palm software, this thread is off topic.]

The apps are for Windows, and will only run on Windows.

This belongs in OT.

Oops...sorry

Personally, I don't really know the point of having both off-topic and general discussion; they're both pretty much the same...

If..

If plug your iPod Touch into a computer and it is used as a mass storage device you can run your apps on a windows PC that way. But it impossible to run them on the screen of the iPod Touch.

first of all you will need

first of all you will need .net to do any web stuff other than surf. there are plenty of FREEWARE software for the Pocket PC but a number of them have their issues including but not limited to damaging you PDA. DONT do web develelopment on a PDA. I havent found a decent TEXT editor yet but i hear there is a port of VI for Windows CE.

CLARIFICATION.
Pocket PC's Run WINDOWS CE
Desktops and laptops run WINDOWS 9X or NT

CE programs are not NT/9x compatable
9X/NT programs are not CE compatable
