Howdy yall,
I'm still new here, but I was thinking. We have a portable Mac OS why not have an OS that can use Other towers and machines? I happen to know that there is a Linux Distrobution called "Damn Small Linux" (DSL). Located here: http://damnsmalllinux.org/

Damn Small linux is already avalible on a Live CD and there are instructions on how to make it boot off a thumb drive on the site. I am wondering whether the person who made the origional post saw that information.
I was simply suggesting that we give more then one option for an OS.
Just checked the OS tab and saw Linux, Coming Soon.

dont use DSL, it has a very old kernel.
DSL is good to set up very very old Computer for network f.x. but not to be booted on new machines....

larch is not very known but i think much faster than all distros showed in your blog link
its based on arch linux and can be configured very personal.
there is a package-manager like apt or yast called pacman
when u want to shutdown the session u have 2 options:
save the changes on the system drive (like update or install or configuration of applications)
or dont save the changes on system drive.

I personaly have larch on first partition, on second i have a fat32 everybody can read and on third i have ntfs truecrypt partition with portable apps
