Hello all. I was just wondering if it was possible to download the virus database for clamwin to the flash drive, that way there is not taking up vital HD space to run it?

I am not sure what it is that you are trying to do.

That's exactly what you are suppposed to do. CLamWin Portable uses its own copy of the virus signature database stored on the flash drive that ClamWin Portable is being run from. Putting it anywhere would not be a good idea. And for security conscious environment would leave tell-tale evidence behind.
Whenever I open it up, it downloads the defninitions to the C drive not the Flash drive.
