Has any one have problem using gmail offline access gears with Firefox portable?

I don't use this

but I have it installed. I know absolutely nothing about it, but Google Gears installed components onto both, my home system and an extension to my FirefoxPortable browser. Check your Add/Remove programs to see if it installed Google Gears onto your pc and then check for the extension. Other than that, maybe someone else can help you.

Edit: I went back and tried this myself. Mine works, but F.Y.I. this
isn't portable. It downloads to your home pc, (unless you can find a way to direct it to your usb flash drive) so you might not want to use it anywhere but at home.

It works great!

If you take a couple extra steps, it works great... You can install Gears to the Fx Portable and the store stays with it... but upgrading from this site deletes the extension (because it's in the Apps directory) I'm about to post that somewhere else...

Edit: The Gears 'store' is in the profile folder, so ONLY the extension is lost... not any data

Following this thread I

Following this thread I wanted to point out that you instead of installing to "\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\extensions\" you should install to "\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\extensions\" so that it survives updates.

Drakkim, I am sorry about the

Drakkim,

I am sorry about the confusion, after you brought this to my attention by today I updated my blog entry with this information (see link below).

I had already started using the Data folder instead of the App folder on my own install, but forgot to update the entry with the correct info until you brought it to my attention.

Thanks!
