I have to say that in the short time I have tried using this software that it has not stopped a single virus, detected any viruses despite having a couple on my system that AVG jumped on when I switched back to it.
Then I keep getting messages like... despite updating perfectly fine.

Before anyone goes off defending this pile of, please tell me how to uninstall it because I am not intrested in any replies other than how to get this pile of off my machine.
To delete ClamWin Portable you only need to delete the ClamWin Portable folder in the PortableApps folder. It's the same with all released PortableApps.com applications.
Quick side note which you may want to ignore considering the last sentence of your original post. Something is definitely wrong with your ClamWin set up. I don't know how it's happened but it definitely isn't functioning correctly. For me it takes well over an hour to scan my 100gb+ plus of data on my portable and has found viruses overlooked by other AVs. Also has flagged a number of false positives. Still if you evere find an AV that never flags a false positive and yet still finds all viruses... crikey you'd be the first![Smile](https://portableapps.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)

that easy? Gven the the original poster can't read --- ClamWin is saying "malformed database" --- are they ging to be able to read your suggestion?
ClamWin is reporting a fault. Action needs to be taken to resolve the problem. That's why it isn't working. Go figure. Sort out the error and the product will work as intended.
I didn't even see that. Well spotted reepicheep
Considering its there in plain sight, IN CAPITALS no less, I guess thats both mine and the OP's bad.
Thanks for not taking the micky out of us![Smile](https://portableapps.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)

Sorry you are having these difficulties:
As was stated above, you just need to delete:
"X:\PathToClamwinPortable\ClamWinPortable\"
usually it would be:
"X:\Portableapps\ClamWinPortable"
Just delete the whole ClamWinPortable directory and it is gone.
As was also mentioned above, ClamWin is reporting an error:
ERROR: Malformed database
and is not running properly, this could be why it is not detecting what AVG claims to be detecting.
Also please remember the intended and best way to run ClamWin is to scan files before you run them, NOT to try to have it clean a system that is already infected. You should always have a RealTime AV product running, "Always". ClamWin is for checking files before they are run, not for protecting the system from files that you do choose to run.
Yes, I have repeated information given by other users and given you information you did not want, but this is for the benefit of other users who may read this post and want to know how to deal with a similar topic.
Thank you and good luck,
Tim
