it's already been done mate you just need to look before requesting as stated in the forum guidelines for this section of the forums

Just for that version it has been done. The one I requested is almost completely different check the links please.
it's different 'cause it's called SMPlayer, it's a another MPlayer GUI
Yes, by looking you never know what you might find!
The MPlayer version here has been out for a while and is - shall we say - less than desirable. The SMPlayer is much better.
If it is the SMPlayer frontend for MPlayer that you want, then there is a version under development here https://portableapps.com/node/18796
Also, if you go to the SMPlayer home site, you will find a portable version by them, but it is not in portableapps format.
the work on putting it in the PAF format. That's how things work around here.

John needs to use SVN builds. 1.0rc2 is ancient and AFAIK they don't plan on doing any more official stable releases.

is it me or do i see a foobar icon as a avitar.
Yep. The 16x16 version of the WV icon to be exact (I like the colors). Best audio player ever.

If that's the case, then we'll consider it abandoned. Any app that only has nightly builds available with no claim to stability or quality where we have to guess which ones to package isn't something we want. We're probably going to go with SMPlayer instead since MPlayer's Windows GUI is awful anyway and that way they'll be worrying about which SVN versions to package.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
They claim that the nightly builds are stable enough. For the average person who wouldn't build it themselves, they recommend the build at http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php . The build is from SVN source, but is updated infrequently enough that any problems would come up. The latest build is from January of this year. I've been using that build of MEncoder without incident.

You should get MPlayer from http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php and get SMPlayer itself (i.e. the package w/o MPlayer) from http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/downloads.php?tr_lang=en because the builds at the SMPlayer site are a bit dated. The latest build from the first site is 29280 (built today), and the one at the SMPlayer site is 28311 (even using the web installer). The SMPlayer packages use the builds from that site anyway.
