Installing Firefox Portable

Hello,

I am receiving an error message when trying to install Firefox_Portable_3.0.10_en-us.paf.exe onto my USB drive. I specify the usb drive as the installation location and after a short time installing the following error message is received:

"Error opening file for writing"
"G:\Firefox Portable\App\DefaultData\Profile\bookmarks.html"

I receive similar error messages for:

- localstore.rdf
- mimetypes.rdf
- Firefox portable setting.ini

If I ignore these messages and continue the installation FP doesn't work.

I have 'Firefox Portable' folders from a previous installation - app, data, DefaultData, etc - that wasn't completed and it is not able to be deleted. When trying to delete:

"Can't remove folder profile: directory not empty"

even when deleted all files inside.

Suggestions to install firefox portable on

thanks

sera

You don't have to install

You don't have to install directly to the flash drive. You can extract to the hard drive first, then copy the Firefox Portable folder over to the flash drive.

Then you need to add FF to the menu.

Do you have the PortableApps.com Menu?

If not, install it on your flash drive (it explains as you go). Once it's installed and launched, click "Options" and select "Install a New App."

Hey! Where'd it go?

Drive Issues

Looks like issues with your drive. I'd suggest checking it for errors before you do anything else. And then back it up.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Maybe

Have you had any problems with your FFP in the past? Its possible though that the files may have messed up and aren't able to be opened. I do agree though that you should check for errors
