Problems with 2 instances of Thunderbird (Portable and Local) at the same time

I have problems starting 2 instances of Thunderbird (PortableApps and Local) at the same time. I have to start the Portable version first and then the Local one. The other way around doesn't function. Then I get an error message: "There is already one instance of Thunderbird started. Please shut down all of the other TB-instances first before you start Thunderbird, Portable Edition." (translated from German by me)

As I know you can start local TB Versions with parameter "-no-remote" to allow starting of more than one TB instance. But this parameter doesn't work with TB Portable from PortableApps.

I need the local Version for my E-Mails and the portable one with Lightning for calendar function. Sunbird unfortunately won't be further developed and Sunbird Portable doesn't work together with My Phone Explorer to synchronize Calendar dates with my mobile phone...

Is there any solution?

With regards,

INI / Unsupported

You need to use the INI file for each as explained in the readme.txt within Other\Source. Each have an INI option to allow multiple instances.

Keep in mind that this is not supported and may leave files behind so it should only be used on your own PC.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
