No ThinApp support

We don't support ThinApp at all. Unless you paid several thousand dollars for it, it's illegal, and also unless you've got Office 2007 Enterprise it's illegal to even bundle it in a ThinApp package for your own purposes, and it's definitely illegal to redistribute it. Also please don't double post; this and your other thread are saying the same thing.

...

aviramofany chance someone here will do something about it in the near future?

Such as...? Pirate software, break Microsoft's EULA, use ThinApp illegally, or a combination of these things? What we can do, what we already do here, which is 100% free and legal, is point you in the direction of OpenOffice.org Portable.

And Windows 7 is kind of a cancer in its own right, tries to be pretty but laggy as all hell. Better than Vista in that regard but not by much. I guess if you have a computer that can go neck and neck with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 it's alright, but for the rest of us... or me, anyway, XP is the way to go.

Weird. I have a 2.0GHz AMD Athlon64 3200+ with 2GB OCZ PC3200/DDR 400 RAM and a 256MB GeForce 6600 that Win7 chokes on and lags all to Hell after running for just an hour. Windows XP is a breeze on it. Even with Win7's fancy GUI disabled (which is uglier than WinXP's Win2k mode) it still lags. My system was top of the line when I built it in 2005 and still runs great with XP. Runs fine with Linux when I decide to run that.

Our mechanic/friend, who is also a geek, keeps saying he'd like to poke around in my BIOS to see why Vista doesn't run good on my computer, because, as he says, his "laptop runs Vista like a scalded dog". Still haven't been able to get him over to look at it. But again, XP runs fine so I don't care much.

See mine.

The probably worst PC in this thread & I'm running 7 with the lag only entering in actio when high-gaming.

use current

version of thinapp software and as base clean w7 VM. Then it quite definitely will work.

BTW: the VMware people have well visited forum, ask there, sure someone will explain how to do new office file for that.

On a side note

ThinApp does not yet support Windows 7, according to Wikipedia.

We do not break the law.

Whatever 'portable office' you're talking about, we DID NOT make it, and will never make anything else that's illegal here either.

Technically,

PA doesn't make apps, (except for the menu and the PA installer [maker]) PA makes them portable

I can say without any doubt

I can say without any doubt that you will never see a portable version of Microsoft Office here. The license is too restrictive and it would be against the EULA to do it, let alone hosting such a package.

There is only open-source applications distributed here right now, and unless there is some work done with the developers of these softwares to get some commercial applications here (legally), you won't see such programs on PortableApps.com.
