aMSN Portable settings disappear after moving to different drive

Hi, I installed aMSN portable to a USB Drive but i noticed that if the drive changes, all of the settings disappear. (For example, copying over the entire folder to the C Drive will make the program appear as if it was just downloaded... aka no settings)

the files seems to be still in the DATA folder but it's not being recognized for some reason. Is there any fix to this? Thanks for your time

P.S. System is Windows XP Media Center Ed. 2004 (Service pack 3)

More Info

Are you using the current release (0.98.1)? Did you use the last release? Did it work properly for you? Are you using it on the exact same path on both drives (ie, C:\PortableApps\aMSNPortable and D:\PortableApps\aMSNPortable)? Like many apps, it can handle drive letter changes but not path changes.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Yes I'm using the latest

Yes I'm using the latest release. I tried it a couple months back with an older release and had the problems so with this new release, i figured i should try it again.

However, with this release i noticed that if it fails with the new path (I copied the files from the old path to the new path so i could always go back), the files in the old path somehow became unusable too. In other words, loading Amsn from the old path no longer brings up my "profile" but rather a default, empty one.

EDIT: Ok i think i figured it out. seemed to be a tiny difference between the two paths. (portableapp vs portableapps)

EDIT AGAIN: if the computer crashes without Amsn portable properly exiting, then all data is lost

Thanks!
