Release Notes:

Development Test 1 (2009-12-05): Initial release, Chris's Launcher

  • features:
AIMP2 seems to be fully portable by it self, including drive letter issues.
  • known bugs:
Just when I used it on a portable hard drive, the audio library didn't update the drive letters.
AIMP2 Portable leaves registry keys in classes.

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0041494D-5032-4472-6F70-546172676574}\ProgID\: "AIMP.TDropTarget"
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0041494D-5032-4472-6F70-546172676574}\LocalServer32\: "G:\PortableApps\AIMP2Portable\App\AIMP2\AIMP2.exe"
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0041494D-5032-4472-6F70-546172676574}\: "AIMP"
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AIMP.TDropTarget\Clsid\: "{0041494D-5032-4472-6F70-546172676574}"
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AIMP.TDropTarget\: "AIMP"
  • still to do:
Figure out how Chris's Launcher deals with localization ?
Find out how to deal with the registry keys left behind ?

Tested with Windows XP sp3

Language handling is not all that's needed yet in my launcher. Take a look at help.html, you'll see it's just a few variable replacements - /%LANG(CODE[23]?|GLIBC|ID|WINNAME)%/. Support for languages will be a bit better in the first release of the Launcher. I personally haven't used language switching in any of my applications using my launcher, although I could have with a couple of them. Before any of them get to official release I will though, I expect.

Could anybody test the following....

I made a tester, to deal with the Classes registry keys.
This is not at all a full development release, BUT JUST TO TEST THE REGISTRY KEYS.

It works fine on my Windows XP, but just to make sure it works on all machines !

AIMP2Portable test

Could you send me a REGSHOT of when launched & after exit, as well if it gives a message with a classes number ?

What's the status of this - is it still active? I think this would be a great app to have.
