I have Chrome portable installed on a laptop on which I do not have administrator rights. Although it has IE7 with flash installed, I can't install Adobe flash on Chrome, due to the rights issue. If you have any suggestions (or can bundle flash with Chrome) please let me know.
Thanks for this great program, though... I just use the IE tab extension whenever I need to see a flash item.
HM
how you install the IE tab on chrome portable?
You have to have the developer channel enabled (see google chrome help) and then you can add the IE tab extension.
i go to that link
but it not working on this portable chrome
they want to install a new chrome.
you install that plugin in chrome portable from this site?
i have portable chrome 4 the beta thing.
thx tal.
Exensions should work without any special configuration as long as you are running a version of Chrome that has "Extensions" in the Tools menu, to indicate Extension support is enabled.
Signature automatically removed for being too awesome.
There is no plugin folder by default but you can create one:
App\Chrome-bin\plugins
Put your plugins in there. If you have Firefox installed locally you can just copy them from Mozilla Firefox\plugins.
Flash should work, Java needs Java installed on the local machine, Quicktime probably too, same with Adobe Reader. Silverlight... maybe, I forget. I don't think 1.0 needed it but newer versions probably do.

thx!
i will try!
it really work!
thx!
just need to tell it for all the other users
that post that question too
thx tal.
Hi,
I am a Flash developer.
With the new Adobe program for many betas (Flash player 10.3, Flash player 11), the need for a debugger version and for a stable version (for testing purpose), I would realy like to switch easily between flash players.
There is an extention in Firefox doing that, but I'd like to work with Chrome.
So I tried to add an extra flash player in a Plugin folder, and it didn't work.
I used the Chrome 10 stable portable.
It doesn't either with the standard Chrome app (dev bulid, curently v11).
Could somebody tip me?
Has there been any change (another name or place for the folder, a file to edit anything?)
Thanks.
Install Chrome Portable twice. But, instead of installing them both in the same folder, install the second copy on, say, the desktop. Rename that to, like GoogleChromePortable2. Copy Flash 10.3 into your plugins folder in your GoogleChromePortable install, then copy Flash 11 onto your GoogleChromePortable2 install. That way, one browser will have 10.3 and the other will have 11.
I know it's not as simple as you'd like it to be, but that's the simplest way I could think of off the top of my head :).
@Pyro: I don't think his problem is switching back and forth (if it is then yes two separate installs, one set each way, is the way to go) but rather that Google Chrome includes Adobe Flash Player built in, so (correct me if I'm wrong) it won't use the Flash Player Plugin files even if you put them in the right folder.
@visitorg: Perhaps you could try using Iron Portable (Iron is a fork of Chromium, Chromium is the source Chrome is built from) instead (it doesn't have Flash Player built in, so it will use the Adobe Flash Player plugin if you put it in the right place), having two installs of Iron with different plugin folder contents would probably work, or you could use the latest stable version of Chrome which will have the latest stable version of Flash Player bundled with it for your stable environment, and use the latest stable version of Iron (do they even release betas?) with the latest beta of the Flash Player plugin files in the plugins folder for your beta environment.
P.S. Is your username supposed to be thought of as Visitor G, or Visit Org?
(or I suppose it could be VI Sit Org, but that seems less likely)
