Portable USB protection program

I have always wanted my files to behind a password so that if someone got a hold of my Jump Drive they couldn't use it!
A program like that would be great!

True Crypt

It can be done, but with some limitations.

I am trying to do the same thing.
Here is some help:
http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/?s=truecrypt-portable

Download "Portable" True Crypt Here:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/Security/Encrypting/Porta...

You can search the forum here and find more on this subject.
Enter TrueCrypt in the search box.
Here is one discussion: https://portableapps.com/node/239

get hardware encrypted stick

since this is the only real solution to the problem.
There are available from all major manufacturers now, cost somewhat more then the cheap once, but it is the answer to the problem. It is probably impossible to have a solution based on software suitable for any stick.

Ironkey, disk2go, kinstone etc have such sticks.

Not going to happen

This is the conversation that will not die! There are plenty of other threads on the forums about this already, such as this one which basically lead to the conclusion that short of folder/partition encrypting software such as TrueCrypt, you're out of luck.

Hardware Solutions

There are USB drives that offer a hardware solution.

They have built in encryption.

Iron Key is one.

SanDisk Cruzer Profile is another:

I found one at Micro Center for $5
It is a 512MB unit.
Then I found the 1GB units online for $5
