Notepad++ Plugins.

In some future release, would it at all be too much to ask to have the option to install the various default plugins for Notepad++ like in its own installer? I only use four of them so every time I update I have to uninstall them manually.

This also goes for all other apps with plugins that don't do this in their installers, but Notepad++ was the only one that came to mind since I just updated it.

Huh?

Never seen that in N++ local version (granted I just click trough). Why would you have to uninstall them each time? They don't cost you anything.

Small

It would have to be really small. The plugins take up only 676K. We don't do optional components in installers to save that little space. It's not worth the effort to maintain or the extra time for the hundreds of thousands of users to have to mentally figure out whether or not they need useful bits that only take up 676K.

heh. Maybe its a 64 megabit

heh. Maybe its a 64 megabit that's he got tons of things that are more important to him. Maybe he's found that all the plugin take up more time for the program to load and that plus the 676k of wasted space is worth it to him.

I don't know. I keep the 4.0 version for when I need more then geany can handle. New releases of pidgin and np++ (like 4.5.0 and 5.0.0, etc.) are buggier then a tepid lake and its not worth it to me.

Not a matter of size or load.

It's not a matter of size or load, but rather a matter of I-don't-want-stuff-on-my-drive-that-I-don't-use. I'll admit to pickyness, but I want to have control over all things installed on my drive (my stance also goes for non-PA.c things) including the small things like plugins.

yeah, never gonna happen.

yeah, never gonna happen. You're better off writing a batch file or some ahk code to trash everything you don't want.

If the local install package

If the local install package has all of those plugins, that's probably the way it will be with the portable install.

For instance, geany local install (and source) ships with 4 plugins that are very nice. Geany Portable will also ship with them.
