Opera

Somebody should make Opera Portable. I am a fan of Opera stuck on Firefox. I'm not Firefox is bad, I just like Opera a lot. I tried making Opera Portable once, but I had a system crash and lost all my progress. Could somebody make this or will I have to make it myself? Shock

I'm usually polite, but

Use the search button in the uppper right corner before posting

This has been asked for many times now! And there was not a positive overall answer by the community about it. If you want to use Opera portably, use OperaUSB or similar OFFICIAL Opera's portable releases! And btw, PortableApps.com doesn't have the permission to bundle Opera, while they do for Firefox...

My posts are old and likely no longer relevant.

I've requested permission to

I've requested permission to do a PAF-compliant build of Opera, but I haven't heard back. I'll contact Opera again later this week/early next week.

A little correction

There is a development project for OperaPortable here!.

@computerfreaker: I don't think you'll get the permission, as a lot of people have requested such a thing from Opera in the last 6 months...

Already Speaking

I'm already connected with Opera for working on a PAF version. Please don't file additional requests with them for a PAF version at this time.

Sorry, I didn't know you were

Sorry, I didn't know you were talking to them. It's been requested so many times, I figured I'd ask about doing my own build. I'll back off (although that isn't necessary yet, since they haven't replied to me).

so look

where others told you to look:

https://portableapps.com/node/12454

see what people have to offer and tell what you don't like on it.

The version I have on my stick I got that way and it has all the folder structure of paf so what are you missing here exactly?

and by the way

the fact that some versions around are not in strict paf format does not mean you can not use it in the suite. Just copy it in a subfolder of portableapps and all should work.
The advantage of the paf is that unpacks itself nice into the right place and the folder structure is such that the backup in the suite can easy backup relevant user files (data folder) but for the actual operation, you can just use any of the portable versions.
