All of a sudden I get the following error when launching Pidgin. I have made no changes to teh software. Should I uninstall it and reinstall?

This has been happening on and off with Pidgin for the last couple revisions. It happens with the local version as well. In the account's advanced options, try turning Use clientLogin on or off (opposite of how you have it now) and try it again. Sometimes it requires several attempts. Sometimes it'll fail for 10 or 15 minutes before magically working again. This is a Pidgin and AOL issue and there is no real workaround currently.
