I'm very interested in genealogy and found this open source program called gramps-3.2.2-1 their web address is http://gramps-project.org/ I have tried to run this program on my thumb drive but it needs Python 2.5.4 or above,Gtk Version 2.12.9 or above, pygtk 2.12.1 or above, pyobject 2.12.3 or above and pycairo 1.2.6 or above installed on every computer I use which is not very convenient when using Public Library computers that don't let you install any thing. If you guys could help get this portable or if you can find a better program that would be awesome!!!!!
Looks real interesting, IMHO thought the installer is way inaccurate. It failed me on all of the requirements yet I have all installed and then some. It is possible to get it to run portable but will require some script writing to have the needed packages included. I have asked a friend and will see if he can assist

Looks like ormus7577 already did this with an older version of Gramps, see the following

Also the Download page on Gramps wiki shows a link to the portable version

Would it be possible for your friend to update to the latest version?
As for the portable versions if you click the link you will notice that it is under development/not yet created. I am working on recompiling it with the necessary Python built into it much like RedNotebook has done.
Edited: I stand corrected from the official website of Gramps it states under development, I am downloading the German version as you popsted to look at as well.
