Where can I get some advice on the spam I received within an email notification regarding a new comment in a subscribed post. The forum doesn't contain the same post. I don't know if it has been removed or something fishy is going on. I can't imagine the content is from the actual OP (as it states) and am concerned that there may be some sort of breach in the security of my email address as registered with portableapps.com

The last 3 or 4 emails I have received have all contained spam. (I hadn't previously read them)
That was a big spam bot that popped up earlier today. I got 16 minutes after its account was created, and it had posted 92 comments in 92 different threads. (Then I have to clear them up individually!) On Monday we had a similar attack which I became aware of 36 minutes after it started - 241 comments that time.
If you look at the email, you'll see it doesn't say that you or the original poster said it - I'm not sure if the system says who wrote it (I don't use that subscription system as I keep up to date with it all from the main tracker). No personal data or anything like that has been compromised. We're sorry it's caused you trouble.

I guess it's one of the prices you pay for the increasing fame of portableapps.com.
If you weren't getting this negative attention it would mean you were dead in the water.

I'm sorry to say the spam has started again and is now causing my portableapps.com forum thread subscriptions to go to the junk bin. I'll have to unsubscribe from everything now which is a real pain in the you-know-what.
